Privacy and access

Yes, by default. Everything you create — chats, files in Personal Data, reports, projects — is private to you until you share it. Files uploaded to Organization Data are visible to your whole organization; files in Personal Data are visible only to you. All content is scoped to your organization: people outside it can’t see your work unless you create a public link. See Sharing and permissions.
Only you. Chats are private to their creator and have no share option. To share what a chat produced, share the generated artifact or put the content in a report, both of which support sharing.
No — chats can’t be shared. Share the artifact the chat generated, or create a report from the content. Projects, reports, artifacts, and stories all support per-user sharing.
Yes, through a public link. Anyone with the link gets read-only access — public visitors can never edit. Turning the report back to private invalidates the link immediately. See Sharing and exporting.
Only editors and owners can share. If you see “You do not have permission to share this item,” ask the owner to change your access to Can edit.

Files and Knowledge

Knowledge accepts PDF, Word, PowerPoint, Excel, CSV, and images (jpg, jpeg, png, webp), up to 100 MB per file and 50 files per batch. Chat attachments follow their own limits: 5 files per message, 25 MB per file, 100 MB combined.
Processing happens in the background and typically takes a few minutes. Large or scanned documents take longer because every page is processed individually. A file isn’t usable by chat or search until processing finishes; a file processing longer than 15 minutes is shown as failed.
Only organization admins can upload to Organization Data. Everyone else uploads to Personal Data, which is private to them. Admins can also create folders anywhere and move files; members manage folders in their Personal Data only.
Sharing changes take a moment to reach chat and search. A short lag is normal; if a shared file stays invisible to a teammate well beyond a few minutes, contact support.
Deleting a chat, report, project, gallery, or file archives it: it disappears from your lists and its link stops working. There’s no self-service restore, so delete deliberately. Archived trackers are the exception with a visible Archived tab — and they’re permanently deleted after 30 days.

Chat, trackers, and stories

Merciv is AI and can make mistakes. Answers include citations for a reason — double-check cited sources before acting on a finding, especially for high-stakes decisions.
Chat names are generated in the background after your first message, so a short delay is normal. A chat that never gets a name still works fine.
Manual, Daily, Weekly (the default), or Monthly. Scheduled runs fire on the hour or half hour in the tracker’s timezone; Manual trackers only run when you click Run Now. See Managing trackers.
Tracker count is set by your organization’s plan. When you hit the limit, you’ll see “You’re tracking as much as this plan allows.” Archive trackers you no longer need, or contact your Merciv representative about a higher limit.
Nothing new turned up for that period, or every candidate topic overlapped with stories the tracker already published. Skipped is deduplication working as intended, not a failure. Broaden the topic, add sources, or lower the frequency if it happens often.
Story generation runs in the background and can take several minutes; the tracker page keeps checking for up to 30 minutes. The finished story appears in your Discover feed and on the tracker’s run history.

Account and workspace

No. Merciv is available for work email addresses; personal domains are blocked at signup. See Getting access.
Organization admins invite by email from Settings → Members, choosing a Member or Admin role. Admins can also approve up to 3 email domains so anyone signing up with a matching work email joins automatically as a Member. See Managing your organization.
Some features — Playbooks, Portfolio, Galleries, and certain chat options among them — are available on select plans, and availability is set per organization. Contact your Merciv representative if you don’t see a feature you expect.
Global search (Cmd/Ctrl+K) covers Reports, Galleries, Chats, and Projects. Artifacts, Stories, and Knowledge files aren’t included — find artifacts under Home’s Recent filters, stories in Discover, and files on the Knowledge page.
The web app adapts to small screens: the sidebar becomes an overlay and chat opens full-screen rather than in a side panel.
An official Merciv announcement. Dismissing it hides it until your next page load; it disappears for good when it expires.
